Creating a Therapeutic Classroom Environment has never been more important. With an estimated 20%* of children experiencing Mental Health difficulties in 2023 alone, making sure that your classrooms are supporting their needs is crucial. In these sessions we look at the physical environment and the framework you are providing that will enable good mental health to flourish. But, at school a child’s greatest asset is their teacher. We focus on what it is that allows teachers to support good mental health for all students and give practical tools to take away and use straightaway.

CPS is the best way to address behavior problems in the classroom. It is a supportive and proactive approach to developing behaviour and self0regulation in children. Developed by Dr Ross Greene PHD, it has become the Gold Standard in behaviour management for children who are struggling to regulate and comply.
Starting with the belief that all behaviour is communication and that undesirable behaviours are communicating an undeveloped skills, we learn how to complete a skills audit that will give you 2 or 3 skills to develop. Each plan is unique to the child .
At the core of this approach is the collaboration with the child. CPS puts the child front and center of the decision making around their behaviour and helps you to build skills within the child. Dignity and self-esteem are protected and the child gains control over themselves and their ability to thrive in the school environment. It’s perfect for those children for whom the regular school discipline policy just isn’t working.
It is estimated that 15-20%* of children in the UK are Neurodiverse. Supporting these children is critical to good mental health and academic progress. In these sessions we take the premise that we ‘teach high and scaffold low’ which ensures that everyone’s needs are met. Many children with Neurodiverse profiles will present differently to their Neurotypical peers and are at far greater risk of under-achieving academically. The associated impact on self-esteem is significant, so it’s easy to see why supporting these learners is so important. The session aims to give teachers a toolkit to take away and use the next day.
